Today's generation of porcelain veneers and laminates rival nature's best work. As a cosmetic dentist, Dr. Owens places all kinds of veneers – from the top-quality, handmade, layered porcelain varieties to Lumineers, a popular brand of minimal or no-prep laminates.
Veneers can completely transform a smile by altering the shape, color, and size of front teeth. They adhere directly to the exterior surface of teeth, masking chips, gaps, and other imperfections.
All of the veneers we place look spectacular. However, each style is a bit different. Traditional porcelain veneers are a bit thicker than laminate veneers, like Lumineers, so they require some tooth enamel preparation before placement. Each porcelain veneer is handmade by a dental ceramist to our exact specifications.
Lumineers and laminate veneers require little, if any, tooth preparation. While they look very nice, they aren't quite as beautiful as porcelain veneers. In addition, not everyone is a good candidate for laminates. The benefit of laminate veneers is that if no preliminary tooth reduction is required, the procedure can be reversed.
To determine which type of veneers will suit your smile and lifestyle, Dr. Owens will consult with you. What are your goals? Your concerns? Leverage Dr. Owens' experience to your benefit!
